13.1.6 Step 6 : Preparation OF 8- (4-BROMO-2-FLUORO-PHENYL)-4-CHLORO-QUINOLINE

To a solution of 4-chloro-8-iodo-quinoline (14 5 mg, 0. 5 mmol) and tetrakis (triphenylphosphine) palladium (57 mg, 0. 05 mmol) in THF (1 mL) was added 0. 5M THF solution OF 2-FLUORO-4-BROMOZINCIODIDE (1 mL) under N2. The reaction mixture was heated overnight at 65°C. The resulting mixture was diluted with CH2C12 and filtered through a syringe filter. The filtrate was concentrated and the residue was purified by column chromatography using 15% EtOAc/Hexane to give 8- (4-BROMO-2-FLUORO-PHENYL)-4-CHLORO-QUINOLINE. H NMR (CDC13, 400 MHz) 8 7. 41 (M, 3H), 7. 52 (d, 1H), 7. 74 (M, 2H), 8. 34 (M, 1H), 8. 78 (d, 1H), Exact mass calculated for CL5H8BRCIFN 334. 95, found 336. 2 (MH+).
