Synthesis of lntermediate-64: To a stirred solution of lntermediate-63 (0.50 g, 2.5 mmol) in DMF (5 mL), KOH (0.28 g, 5.0 mmol) was added and stirred at room temperature for 20 minutes. To the reaction mixture iodine (0.26 g, 5.0 mmol) in DMF was added and the reaction was continued at room temperature for 12 hours. After completion of the reaction the reaction mixture was quenched with H20, extracted with EtOAc and concentrated to give 208 lntermediate-64 (750 mg) as brown solid, which was used in next step without any purification.
