The l-(l,3-thiazol-4-ylmethyl)-lH-indol-5-amine used as starting material was made from 5~nitroindole and 4~(chloromethyl)-l,3-thiazole (isolated from 4-(chloromethyl)-l,3- thiazole hydrochloride by neutralisation by aqueous sodium bicarbonate, extraction with dichloromethane, drying of the organic layer with magnesium sulfate and evaporation of the solvent) according to the procedure described in Example 4
