(3) 4-Phenoxymethylbenzaldehyde O 0 OH Dess-Martin Reagent H O/ To a solution of [DESS-MARTIN] reagent (1.79 g) in dichloromethane (10 ml) was dropwise added a solution of 4-phenoxymethylbenzyl alcohol (0.82 g) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min and poured into IN [NAOH] water solution (30 ml). The organic layer was washed with water and dried over sodium sulfate. The solvent was removed off and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate = 4/1) to obtain 4- phenoxymethylbenzaldehyde (0.67 g, [81%)] as a colorless solid.
