Steps:

A1.a

A [MIXTURE OF TERT-BUTYL CYCLOPENTYLINDENECARBAZATE (0. 1] mol) and Pt/C 5% (2g) in AcOH (30ml) and CH30H (300ml) was hydrogenated for 5 hours under a 3 bar pressure, then filtered over celite. The solvent was evaporated. The residue was taken up in ice water, basified with K2C03 and extracted with [CH2C12.] The organic layer was separated, dried [(MGS04),] filtered, and the solvent was evaporated. Yielding: [21G] of intennediate [1] (>100%).
