Steps:

4.1.3. General procedure for the synthesis of 4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2- dioxaborolan-2-yl) pyridine derivatives (2a-2d)

In a dry 100 mL round bottom flask, 4-bromo-2-substituted pyridine derivative (1a-1d) (10 mmol), dried bis(pinacolato)diboron (12 mmol), and potassium acetate (20 mmol) into anhydrous dioxane (20 mL). The reaction solution was stirred at 100 C overnight. Notably, the reaction system was strictly anhydrous and under a nitrogen atmosphere. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated in the vacuum, and the residue was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phases were concentrated in the vacuum to obtain the corresponding intermediates 2a-2d (yield: 76.6-92.7%), which were directly used in the following reaction without further purification.
