Example 1Production of 5-benzoyl-1-methyltetrazole36.5 L of methanol and 12 kg (73 mol) of a compound represented by formula (Oa) were placed in a reactor provided with a stirrer, reflux apparatus and a dropping funnel, and 87.6 mol of methylamine was added to the reactor while controlling the temperature to 15 to 20° C. The reaction was performed for 5 hours. 11.79 kg of a compound represented by formula (Ia) was obtained by this reaction. The yield was 95.4%.
