Example 2.35: 3-(3-methoxy-4-methylphenyl)propan-l-amine; [0277] To methyl 3-methoxy-4-methylbenzoate (3gm, 16.6 mmol) in THF (60 ml) at O⁰C, LAH (3gm, 66.6 mmol) was slowly added. After stirring at O⁰C for further 30 min, reaction mixture was worked up as described above to obtain the alcohol (3-methoxy-4- methylphenyl)methanol in quantitative yield.
