Steps:

88.8 (8) Synthesis of Compound 118:
Compound 117 (10 g, 21.0 mmol) and lithium bromide (4.8 g, 31.5 mmol) were dissolved in 30 mL of N,N-dimethylformamide and heated to 80 °C for 1 h. Rotary evaporation under reduced pressure and N,N- dimethylformamide, water and extracted three times with dichloromethane, the organic phases were combined and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and rotary evaporation under reduced pressure, Column chromatography (CH2C12), to give a pale yellow liquid, i.e., compound 118 (7.3g, 90%).
