Yield:49629-37-0 93%

Reaction Conditions:

with 1,10-Phenanthroline;iron(II) acetate;sodium t-butanolate in toluene at 110; for 12 h;Schlenk technique;Sealed tube;Inert atmosphere;Reagent/catalyst;

Steps:

3.2. General Procedure for Iron-Catalyzed Alkenylation of Ketones with Alcohols

General procedure: In a 15 mL oven-dried Schlenk tube, alcohols (0.25 mmol), t-BuONa (0.0625 mmol), Fe(OAc)2(0.0125 mmol), phen (0.015 mmol) and ketones (0.375 mmol, 1.5 equiv.) were added followed bytoluene 1.0 mL under an atmosphere of an N2 balloon, and the reaction mixture was refluxed at 110 °Cfor 24 h in a closed system. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, and 3.0 mL of ethylacetate was added and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography,using a gradient of hexane and ethyl acetate (eluent system) to afford the pure product.
