Dimethyl Furan-2,5-dicarboxylate can be used as organic synthesis intermediate and pharmaceutical intermediate, mainly used in laboratory research and development process.  It can be synthesized by the condensation of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid and dimethyl carbonate.

In a 500ml three-necked flask, add 15ml of N,N-dimethylformamide as solvent, and then add 465mg (3mmol) of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, 1.35g (15mmol) of dimethyl carbonate, 0.3mmol Lithium carbonate and 1mmol of tetramethylammonium bromide form a heterogeneous reaction system. The temperature is raised to 150°C in an oil bath, and the temperature rise time is controlled within 0.5h. The reaction is carried out for 10h under magnetic stirring (600r/min). After the reaction, it was allowed to stand, and the supernatant was taken for liquid chromatography analysis to determine the yield of dimethyl 2,5-furandicarboxylate. The test conditions of high performance liquid chromatography are: Agilent 1200, Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse XDB C18 Column, mobile phase is CH3OH:H2O=50:50, flow rate is 1.0ml/min, column temperature is 30, detection wavelength is 270nm,Calculated by high performance liquid chromatography, the yield of dimethyl 2,5-furandicarboxylate was 98.62%.
