General procedure: The mixture of 3 (12.64 mmol, 1.0 equiv.) with excess ammonia solution in ethanol (30 mL)was stirred at R.T. The reaction was monitored by TLC using petroleum ether:ethyl acetate (1:1).The mixture was filtered through a Celite pad to aord the thioureas 4 in approximately 100% yield.
