General Synthetic Route for Methyl N-Substituted-N′-Cyanocarbamimidothioate Compounds

General procedure: Arylamines or alkylamines (4.78 mmol) in ethanol (8 mL) was dropwise added to a stirred solution of dimethyl N-cyanodithioiminocarbonate (0.438 g, 3.00 mmol) in ethanol (15 mL). Then the mixture was heated at 40-45 °C for 4-5 h and then cooled to 0 °C. The precipitate was isolated by suction filtration and washed by cool ethanol and diethyl ether sequentially to give the corresponding products. White solid, yield: 0.501 g (87.3%), 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSOd6): δ (ppm) 7.38-7.17 (m, 5H, Ph), 2.64 (s, 3H, SCH3),1.88(s, 1H, NH). IR (KBr disc, cm-1): 3223, 2183, 2160, 1519.
