32.AAAX Procedure AAAX: Preparation of NN-dimethyl- l Hindole-2-carboxamide

To a stirring solution of dimethylamine hydrochloride (0.76 g, 9.3 1 mmol) in DMF (30 mL) at rt under N2 was added triethylamine (4.32 mL, 3 1.0 mmol). The resulting mixture was left to stir at rt for 10 min at which time indole-2-carboxylic acid ( 1.00 g, 6.21 mmol) was added, followed by HATU (2.83 g, 7.45 mmol). The resulting solution was left to stir at rt for 4 h. The reaction mixture was poured into cold (0 °C) water resulting in the precipitation of a tan colored solid. The solid was isolated by filtration, washed with further water and air dried overnight to afford N,7V-dimcthyl- l ff-indolc-2-carboxamidc ( 1. 1 1 g, 95%). NMR (300 MHz, CDC13) δ ppm: 9.45 (s, 1 H), 7.69 (dd, J = 8.0, 1.0 Hz, l H), 7.46 (dd, J = 8.2, 0.9 Hz, 1 H), 7.32 (dd, J = 7.0, 1.2 Hz, 1H), 7. 16 (ddd, J = 8.0, 7.0, 1.0 Hz, lH), 6.88 (dd, ./ = 2.1 , 1.0 Hz, 1 H), 3.43 (s, 3H), 3.27 (s, 3H).
