A total of 43.0 mg of ASCA-2 (Pd 4.5 mass %, Pt 0.5 mass %) produced by N.E. Chemcat Corporation (3.0 mol % when calculated based on benzyloxy groups) and tetrabenzyloxysilane (68.4 mg, 0.150 mmol) obtained in Synthesis Example 8 were placed into a two-neck flask equipped with a magnetic stirrer, and 1.4 ml of N-methylacetamide (MMAc), 0.2 ml of N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and aniline (NH2Ph, 1.7 mg) in a 0.030-fold substance amount, when calculated based on benzyloxy groups, were added thereto. After replacing with hydrogen gas, a reaction was conducted for 2.0 h at room temperature. The catalyst was then filtered out with a filter. The 1H, 13C, and 29Si-NMR (DMAc/THF-d8: -72.4 ppm) analysis confirmed that silanetetraol, etc. was produced. The results relating to the yield of the product, etc. are presented in Table 18.
