Triisopropylsilyl chloride synthesis

10synthesis methods
There are two main methods for synthesizing triisopropyl chlorosilane. One is to use triisopropyl silane as a raw material, and hydrochloric acid and other reagents are used to chlorinate the hydrogen on the silicon. Another method uses silicon tetrachloride as raw material, and reacts with isopropyl lithium to obtain triisopropyl chlorosilane.

Yield:13154-24-0 191 g

Reaction Conditions:

with hydrogenchloride;sodium sulfate in water at -5 - 5; for 2 h;

Steps:

2 Preparation of triisopropyl chlorosilane

Equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, a condenser 500ml of four-necked flask was added 174.3g (1mol) triisopropyl silanol and 3 to 30 percent over anhydrous sodium sulfate, then add 0.3-0.5% of a quaternary ammonium salt catalyst R4The N+X--, a nitrogen atmosphere, at -5 ~ 5°C lower and HCl gas is monitored by gas chromatography track, when the content of triisopropyl chlorosilane over 99.% of HCl was stopped, stirring was continued for 1h after stirring was stopped, allowed to stand for 1h, the aqueous phase was separated to give the product 191g. The product was analyzed by gas chromatography, the content of ≥99%.
