Prepared in the same manner as described for 2b, using 2-iodobenzylalcohol (1.17 g, 5 mmol), which afforded 2e; yield: 1.12 g (89%);white solid.1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3): δ = 7.84 (d, J = 7.9 Hz, 1 H), 7.46 (d, J = 7.7Hz, 1 H), 7.34 (t, J = 7.6 Hz, 1 H), 6.99 (t, J = 7.7 Hz, 1 H), 4.66 (s, 2 H). 13C NMR (100 MHz, CDCl3): δ = 51.2, 99.7, 129.0, 130.2, 130.3, 139.9,140.0.
