Uses

Propane is an aerating agent used in combination with chloropenta- fluoroethane or octafluorocyclobutane as a propellant and aerating agent for foamed or sprayed foods.

Definition

A gaseous alkane obtained either from the gaseous fraction of crude oil or by the cracking of heavier fractions. The principal use of propane is as a fuel for heating and cooking, since it can be liquefied under pressure, stored in cylinders, and transported easily. Propane is the third member of the homologous series of alkanes.
