1-Bromo-2-methylpropane is used as a synthetic reagent for the preparation of 1-ethyl-1,3-isobutylimidazolium bromide by reaction with 1-ethylimidazole.

data. Moderately toxic by intraperitoneal
route. A dangerous fire hazard when
exposed to heat or flame. When heated to
decomposition it emits toxic fumes of Br-.

Purification Methods
