Description

Ethyl 4,4,4-trifluorocrotonate was used in the synthesis of (2S,3S)-3-methyl- and (2S,3S)-3-trifluoromethylpyroglutamic acid. It undergoes diastereoselective Michael addition reaction with ethyl crotonate.
