To the round bottom flask is added 103.8 g ethylene glycol, 45.9 g paraformaldehyde and 14.2 g deionized water. Then, round bottom flask is added 8.2 g concentrated sulfuric acid as a catalyst (catalyst for ethylene glycol and paraformaldehyde of the total mass of 5.48 wt %). Through the magnetic stirrer, reflux while stirring, heated to 130 °C reaction 2 hours. The reaction product by atmospheric distillation, collecting 71 - 75 °C fraction, through the salting out with sodium chloride and molecular sieve after dehydration, get the refined 1, 3 - dioxolo. The conversion rate of the glycol 82.1%, 1, 3 - dioxolo yield of 86.4%, lower than example 6.
