Step B: Synthesis of 1 -methyl- lH-indazol-6-amine; [0213] A mixture of l-methyl-6-nitro-lH-indazole (0.480 g, 2.71 mmol), platinum oxide (50 mg), ethanol (20 mL), and tetrahydrofuran (5 mL) was shaken under an atmosphere of hydrogen at 30 psi for 1.5 h. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate evaporated to give 1- methyl-lH-indazol-6-amine (0.395 g, 99%) as an off-white solid: 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.80 (s, IH), 7.48 (d, J= 8.5 Hz, IH), 6.57 (dd, J= 8.5, 1.8 Hz, IH), 6.53 (s, IH), 3.94 (s, 3H), 3.86 (br s, 2H); ESI MS m/z 148 [M + H]+.
