Steps:

4.1.4. Synthesis of 1,3,4 oxadiazole derivatives 9g-j

General procedure: 5-benzyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol 4 (5mmol), acetone (20mL) and K2CO3 (10mmol) was added in a round bottom flask followed by continuous stirring. Furthermore, chloroacetyl chloride derivatives 8a-d (6mmol) were added in above reaction mixture and heated under reflux for 12h. The progress of the reaction was monitored through TLC. After the completion of reaction the obtained reaction mixture was placed under low pressure to get concentrated solid oxadiazole derivatives 9g-j which was purified by applying column chromatography [28,29].
