Steps:

89.1 Step 1: 2-Amino-S -fluorobenzenethiol (2):

To a solution of 6-fluoro-2-methylbenzo[djthiazole 1 (2 g, 11.96 mmol) in ethylene glycol (10 mL) was added 8 N NaOH (8 mL). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred at 140°C for 6 h. Progress of the reaction was monitored by TLC. After completion, the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature; acidified with iN HC1 up to pH=6 and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layer was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the title compound 2 as yellow solid (1.65 g, yield96%).
