Steps:
3 Synthesis of compound 3c:
In the air atmosphere,Add 0.5 mmol of cyclohexanone to a solution containing 0.1 mmol of elemental iodine in DMSO.Add 0.5 mmol of 4-methoxyphenylhydrazine and stir at 80 °C for 9 hours.During the reaction, it was monitored by TLC to complete reaction. After the reaction is completed, water is added to quench it.It is then extracted with ethyl acetate and dried over anhydrous Na 2 SO 4 .The pure product azobenzene (3c) was isolated by flash column chromatography under reduced pressure.Isolated yield: 72%.
