Reaction Conditions:

with tetrakis(triphenylphosphine) palladium(0) in N,N-dimethyl-formamide at 80; for 5 h;Inert atmosphere;Temperature;

Steps:

a mixture of intermediate 8 (0.8 g, 4.14 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added zinc cyanide (0.487 g, 4.144 mmol) and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (0.479 g, 0.414 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at 80 °C for 5 hours under N2 atmosphere. The mixture was poured into ice water and extracted with EtOAc twice. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over anhydrous Na2S04, filtered and concentrated to dryness. The residue was purified on flash chromatography (PE: EtOAc = 53 : 47) to give intermediate 9 (0.58 g, yield 98.9%) as colorless solid. LC/MS (ESI) (m/z): 140 (M+H)+.
