Step-III: Preparation of Fmoc-(2S,4R) -(4-0-CO-NH-CH2-CH2-NH-Boc)-Pro-OH The methyl ester obtained in step-II was then hydrolyzed to free acid by treatment with IN sodium hydroxide in a mixture of 1, 4-dioxane and water. Providing a mixture of H- (2S,4R) -(40CO-NH-CH2-CH2-NH-Boc)-Pro-OH and the desired product Fmoc- (2S ,4R) -(40CO-NH-CH2-CH2-NH-Boc)-Pro-OH. Yield: 55%
