Reaction Conditions:
with triethylamine in dichloromethane;
Steps:
11.a a) Protection of 2-bromoethylammonium bromide
14 mmol (2.87 g) of 2-bromoethylammonium bromide 1 and 14 mmol (1.95 ml, 1.42 g) of triethylamine are dissolved with stirring in 100 ml of dichloromethane in a 150 ml two-necked flask. 10 mmol (1.51 g) of para-nitrobenzaldehyde 2 are added to the solution and the mixture is kept stirred overnight. [0201] The solvent is evaporated and the resulting yellow solid is taken up in 50 ml of dichloromethane and 50 ml of water. The organic phase is extracted with 3×25 ml of dichloromethane and washed with 3×25 ml of water, then dried over magnesium sulphate and concentrated under vacuum. 2.16 g of yellow solid 3 are obtained. The yield is 80%
