Steps:

Trimethylsulfonium iodide (3)
Dimethyl sulphide (1.2 mL, 16.1 mmol) and methyl iodide (1 mL, 16.1 mmol) were stirred at 25 °C for 15 hrs. The resulting precipitate was ground via mortar and pestle, recrystallised from EtOH and dried under reduced pressure to afford clear colourless crystals (2.16 g, 10.6 mmol, 66%);
