Dipeptide-1 is found naturally in the body and plays a role in maintaining skin’s elasticity. Acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester is a cosmeceutical peptide. It increases the expression of the genes encoding the skin barrier function proteins AQP3, FLG, caspase-14, and cytokeratin 10 in primary human keratinocytes. Acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester reduces glyoxal-induced formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in primary human fibroblasts.
