Dowex? 50WX4 hydrogen form when treated in boiling water converted D,L-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate diethyl acetal (barium salt) to free aldehyde D,L-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. It is a useful column packing material, used in anion exchange chromatography.
