Cyclopentadiene is used in the manufactureof resins, in the synthesis of sesquiterpenesand camphors, and as a ligand in the preparationof metal complexes, used in the manufacture of resins; in organic synthesis as the diene in the Diels-Alder reaction producing sesquiterpenes, synthetic alkaloids, camphors.
