1.主要成分
桉叶素（70%~85%），a-蒎烯，莰烯，水芹烯，萜品烯，萜品醇，乙酸香叶醇，异戊醛，香茅醛和胡椒酮等。
2.制法
由桃金娘科的蓝桉或其他桉叶树，香樟树和樟树等的新鲜叶子经水蒸气蒸馏而得。得率2%~3%。
有一定的防霉及杀菌防腐作用。平均熔点-15.4°。几乎不溶于水，溶于乙醇，无水乙醇，油和脂肪中。
3.质量标准
A.旋光度（20℃） ：0~+5°
B.混溶度（20℃） ：全溶于五倍体积70%（V/V）乙醇中
C.桉叶素含量 ：80.0%~85.0%
D.砷（以As计） ：≤0.0003%
E.重金属（以Pb计） ：≤0.001%
4.用途
香料。
桉叶油具有杀菌作用，大量用于医药制品，也可作止咳糖，胶姆糖，含嗽剂，牙膏，空气清净剂等赋香剂。
