Zeaxanthin dipalmitate is an antioxidant carotenoid compound, and is the main carotenoid in Lycium barbarum and Lycium chinense fruits. Zeaxanthin dipalmitate from Lycium chinense has been shown to reduce experimentally induced hepatic fibrosis in rats.
