Description

In organic chemicals, dyes rayon, leather and paper, in hydrometallurgy of gold ore, sulfiding oxidized lead and copper ores, and as an analytical reagentSodium sulfide is used mainly in the pulp and paper industry in the Kraft process. It serves as an oxygen scavenger agent in water treatment. Other applications include ore flotation, oil recovery, making dyes and detergents. In the leather processing industry, it is utilized for liming operation as an unhairing agent. It is also used in the textile industry as a bleaching and desulfurizing agent and as a dechlorinating agent in chemical photography for toning black and white photographs as well as metals precipitant. It plays an important role as a sulfonation and sulfomethylation agent in the chemical industry and in the production of rubber chemicals, sulfur dyes and other chemical compounds.
