Description

Triparanol is a tertiary amine compound described to be a distal inhibitor of cholesterol biosynthesis through inhibition of DHCR24 (δ 24-reductase). Triparanol has also been described as an inhibitor of Hedgehog pathway signaling, and has been used as a probe in studying the behaviors and mechanisms of this pathway.
