Steps:

The insoluble white solid was filtered off and dried in vacuo to give a mixture of the sub-title compounds (2g). 2-chloro-5-methyl-4-pyrimidinamine: Major (85%) LH NMR 6 (DMSO) 7.82 (s, LH), 7.21 (s, 2H), 1.94 (s, 3H) 4-CHLORO-5-METHYL-2-PYRIMIDINAMINE : Minor (15%) H NMR 8 (DMSO) 8.13 (s, lH), 6.83 (s, 2H), 2.07 (s, 3H)
