(+)-Dipentene is sensitive to exposure to light. Atmospheric oxidation can occur. (+)-Dipentene is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. (+)-Dipentene reacts violently with (iodine pentafluoride + tetrafluoroethylene). With dry hydrogen chloride or hydrogen bromide, (+)-Dipentene forms monohalides.
