2,4-Diacetylphloroglucinol is a non-nitrogen-containing compound produced by some isolates of P. fluorescens and is active against numerous plant pathogenic fungi, viruses, bacteria, and nematodes. It has been used to increase crop yield by controlling plant root diseases.
