Description

Self-assembly of 4-(4-pyridyl)benzoic acid (pybenH), Ni2+, SCN- and an aromatic guest (naphthalene or dibenz[a,h]anthracene) gave two isostructural inclusion compounds, in which pybenH ligands form the corresponding dimers acting as bidentate building blocks with a length of ca. 20.86 ?. By replacing an isonicotinic acid dimer with a 4-(4-pyridyl)benzoic acid (pybenH) dimer, new inclusion compounds in which pybenH dimers function as bridging ligands of ca. 21 ?.
