Description

DTG is a σ receptor ligand. σ receptors have been characterized as non-opioid, non-dopamine D2 and non-phencyclidine receptors. Researchers have discovered that σ binding sites exist in the brain and peripheral organs such as the gastrointestinal tract, liver, testis, adrenal gland and ovary. Specifically, DTG displays high and roughly equal affinity for both σ1 and σ2 receptors.
