Description
Phentermine is an α-methylated amphetamine that activates trace amine associated receptor 1 (TAAR1, EC50 = 5.47 μM). It potently stimulates the release of norepinephrine (IC50 = 39.4 nM), with less effect on the release of dopamine and serotonin (IC50s = 262 and 3,511 nM, respectively). Primarily through these actions, phentermine suppresses appetite and augments fat metabolism, supporting usefulness in ameliorating obesity. This product is a qualified Reference Material (RM) that has been manufactured and tested to meet ISO17025 and Guide 34 guidelines. These materials are tested using validated analytical methods on qualified instrumentation to ensure traceability of measurements.
