Description

Resiniferatoxin is a natural analog of capsaicin isolated from some plants of the genus Euphorbia, including E. resinifera. It activates the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1 (TrpV1), formerly known as vanilloid receptor 1, with a Ki value of 20 pM. It is an extremely potent and selective activator of a sub-population of primary afferent neurons.
