Description

Lydicamycin belongs to a novel structural class with highly selective antibiotic activity. Recent research has shown that lydicamycin and the related metabolites, Antibiotic TPU-0037-A and Antibiotic TPU-0037-C, are highly active against MRSA. Lydicamycin is also closely related to Antibiotic BN 4515N which was isolated from a strain of Microtetraspora as a neuritogenic agent. Shown to have antibacterial activities against Gram-positive bacteria. Highly active against MRSA.
