Description

Ticarcillin/Clavulanate (15/1) is composed of Ticarcillin and Clavulanate mixed in a 15:1 ratio respectively. Ticarcillin is an inhibitor of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It inhibits the crosslinking of peptidoglycan by binding and inactivating of transpeptidases. High activity against gram-(-) bacteria and this combination is effective against resistant Agrobacterium strains. The Clavulanate is utilized as a LACTB (β-lactamase) inhibitor that adds resistance towards bacteria that secrete β-lactamase.
