Uses
LiODFB is used as a thermally stable novel salt and an electrolytic additive for lithium-ion batteries. It facilitates the formation of stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on the negative electrode during the fabrication of the cell. It substantially enhances the cyclic performance, capacity and power retention of the electrochemical system.
General Description
This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency.
Advantages
lithium difluoro(oxalato)borate(1-), a hybrid salt of lithium bis(oxalate)borate(LiBOB) and lithium tetrafluoroborate(LiBF4), possesses beneficial properties of both parent anions. These merits include 1) a relatively high ionic conductivity over a wide temperature range, 2) the ability to not only support metallic lithium cycling reversibly on the surface of a copper anode current collector but also passivate the aluminum cathode current collector at high voltage, 3) the active formation of a SEI layer, and 4) the possibility to increase battery safety protection and overcharge tolerance[1].
