Description

Bambuterol is a prodrug for terbutaline, a long-acting β-adrenoceptor agonist (Ki = 15.4 μM for human β2-adrenergic receptor). Bambuterol is converted to terbutaline by butyrylcholinesterases in the liver and plasma. Long-acting β agonists are useful in ameliorating symptoms of asthma.
