Description

Oxaprozin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 in human synovial cells with IC50 values of 2.2 and 36 μM, respectively. It has been reported to inhibit thromboxane B2 production in human platelets (IC50 = ~2 μM) and to inhibit prostaglandin E2 production by human synovial cells stimulated with IL-1β (IC50 = ~20 μM). It demonstrates analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity in rodent models at doses of 70-100 mg/kg.
